The great mosque is situated in a very nice neighbourhood. On your way to the mosque you will imagine to find yourself at a bazaar. The shops sell mostly souvenirs and replica’s of designer bags, watches, etc. The mosque is an oasis of peace and quietness compared to the busy Xi’an street life. The mosque is built in 742 and is a blend of Islamic and Chinese architecture. It is one of china’s biggest, oldest and best preserved mosques, definitely worth a visit when in Xi’an.
