This temple is situated 130 km. outside of Xi’an but it has great religious and cultural significance. It used to be the royal temple and it is one of china’s oldest temples. It is believed to house the finger bone of Buddha Shakyamuni, who is the founder of Buddhist religion. Also other well preserved valuable relics are displayed in the pagoda and the neighboring museum.
