December 2005, he severed his ties and set out for China, armed with a pocket sized Lonely Planet. What are his findings so far? Never ask to buy a horse

The Chinese language is probably one of the most difficult languages to master for non-Chinese. Not only because of all the characters, but also due to the different ways a word can be pronounced. Food for thought

KFC commercialOnce upon a time… Kentucky Fried Chicken launched a new commercial in China. This commercial showed a parody on the movie Seven Swords, which is based on historical figure and patriot Taoist Fu Qingzhu. In the commercial a Buddhist uses a hamburger as study material for his students. One important thing by KFC apparently did not realize is the fact that (most) Taoists are vegetarians… It did not take long before KFC was criticised for this commercial.
