ANALYSIS, Business — China story is high-risk, high-return business story.
Longer-term it can be big, but as usual, the risks are being understated. Here¡¯s why¡¦
7 reasons why China story on innovation is risky:
7. China is a large nation of nation-states, much like the EU. There is no single ¡®China¡¯ nation, something missed on Westerners.
6. Legal protection may be improving, but observation and enforcement of laws varies province by province
5. Cultural differences under-estimated, as well as no single ¡®China language¡¯ Read the rest of ¡°Innovation: China story a problem¡± or post a comment

As I¡¯m a Chinese in China, therefore the title is ¡°7 Reasons Why You Should Come to China¡±, otherwise it should be ¡°7 Reasons Why You Should Go to China¡±. But this doesn¡¯t matter much. Below I¡¯ll explain why you really should come to China today if you are not in China yet. As I type while standing, I¡¯ll keep the writing as simple as possible so your reading will also be as simple as possible. Sounds like a win-win strategy.
1. You can get money in China!
¡°In a global economy beset with slow and even no growth, China stands out as a shining exception. As it transforms itself from a rural economy into an industrial powerhouse, China¡¯s gross domestic product is growing 7% to 8% annually. You see the evidence all around you. Virtually everything is made in China these days — from apparel to computers to cell phones.¡± Read the rest of ¡°7 Reasons Why You Should Come to China!¡± or post a comment

As expatriates have flooded into China in recent years, pockets of the country have developed a distinctly colonial feel. In the trendiest parts of Shanghai the nightlife is dominated by foreigners living the semi-Chinese experience, much as some British did in Africa and India during years gone by. True, colonialism brings to mind a military imposition, something decidedly missing from modern China, but there is nonetheless an uncomfortable reality that is plain to see. China markets are getting MUCH more competitive. Where is the competition coming from? Overseas firms selling into China ? Existing local firms? Other Chinese firms that are starting to expand into your territory? New local companies? Other local companies that have been around for a long time but have started to compete with you recently? YES to all of these.
RULE #1. If ANYONE wants to buy your product, then you have COMPETITION.
There is a special name for companies that don¡¯t do FORMAL competitive analysis because they think they have no competition: BANKRUPT COMPANIES! Read the rest of ¡°China Sales and Competitive Analysis¡± or post a comment
