Entering Chinese Market for M&A
Dear All,
I am currently working for an investment bank and trying to find resources to get our name out to Chinese industrial companies. We are hoping to do mergers and acquisitions transactions between American and Chinese companies. Do you know of any online resources that we can use to get our name out to these companies in China (specifically machine tools or auto parts)? Thanks.
Regards,
Robert

Hi Robert,
I am Chinese, and I have 14 years full-time work experience in China, and I know Chinese laws, and know how important to deal with Chinese government, of course, you can leave the government alone either. My family lives in Norman, OK now.
Please tell me what you want to do in China? Then I can help you. You can contact me at: hitechzhou@gmail.com
Good luck!

Dear Robert:
I have connections with the Chinese companies with interest in merging or acquiring US companies. Can we talk on phone for a few minutes?

Hi Robert, there are business directories that can be purchased, if that’s what you’re looking for. I have a few names in mind, but I haven’t stayed up-to-date, and would want to put my assistant onto this before I recommended anything.
However, even modest levels of investigation, working from unqualified leads, will be a thankless endeavor.
The best way to proceed is via China banking executives operating regional/local branches. The local branches know who is viable, who needs a loan, who might be interested in an investment or public listing. More thoughts on this, if you want to have a separate conversation.
Best,
Kirvan

Robert,
i think the best way of doing this is to partner with a Chinese IBank who has connection locally. I’m a Chinese who works here in the US. I know quite a few local Ibanks. If you’re interested, i can help.

Hi Robert:
We can provide you with a database list of Chinese companies in machine tools and/or auto parts.
Given your M&A focus, you might want us to cull the list for you to include only companies which have been around for more than, say, 3 years, have annual sales over a certain level, and even just those which are engaged in international trade.
Depending on which type of DB you purchased, info could include the identifying info of the Chinese companies, contact person, year established, annual revenue, number of employees, import/export info, etc.
Please feel free to contact me for further info and to see a sample DB. Louise@glo-bis.com

Detroit Chinese Business Association may be the good source for your business. Please check our website at www.dcba.com. We received many requirements from Chinese companies regarding M&A. They are coming to US and ready to buy American companies, specially the auto parts suppliers. I can be reached via lyan@dcba.com.
