One of the most widely discussed subjects about doing business with Chinese people is the concept ‘Guanxi’. Одним из наиболее широко обсуждаемых вопросов о деловые отношения с китайским народом является концепция "Guanxi". Literally ‘Guanxi ’ means “being closed into a system”. Not without reason, the term Guanxi often isn’t translated into English. Не без оснований, срок Guanxi часто не переведен на английский язык. In some occasions Guanxi is translated as ‘networking’, but that doesn’t really get to the deeper meaning of the word. While networking is based on knowing which person does what, Guanxi is based on the right to ask for a favour. Хотя сети на основе зная, что человек делает, Guanxi основан на право попросить пользу. Furthermore, Guanxi relates to someone’s background, work relations, family matters and relations that have nothing to do with friendship. Being aware a favour from the other party can be asked for, is the essence of Guanxi. Сознавая пользу от другой стороны, может быть попросил, является сутью Guanxi.

The foundation of Guanxi is the faith that one favour will be exchanged for another some day by each party involved. Guanxi основой является вера в то, что за один будет обменять на другой день около каждой из сторон участвует. Therefore Guanxi is almost only used when favours need to be exchanged. Friendship is just one out of many possibilities that allows one to ask favours. Дружба является лишь одним из многих возможностей, что позволяет задать услуги. The criteria that defines a good friendship, is the possibility to trust and rely on each other. Критерии, которые определяет хорошую дружбу, является возможность доверять и полагаться друг на друга. The friendship created by ‘Guanxi’ is not in the least comparable to ‘networking’ as we know that in the West. Дружбы созданные "Guanxi" не менее сопоставимы с "сетей", как мы знаем, что на Западе. Guanxi based solely on friendship, will take years to establish. Guanxi исключительно на основе дружбы, потребуются годы создать. Businessmen who expect to create Guanxi by having dinners or spending time in Karaoke bars might create goodwill, but not Guanxi. Бизнесмены которые ожидают создания Guanxi возникшая ужинов или проводить время в барах караоке может создать добрую волю, но не Guanxi.

Guanxi can develop when you help a Chinese acquaintance to get a visa in your country or when you provide a job to the child of a business relation. Guanxi может развиваться при помощи китайских знакомых, чтобы получить визу в вашей стране или когда вы предоставляете работу для детей из бизнес-отношения. These examples create ‘light’ Guanxi. Эти примеры создания "легких" Guanxi. The level of effort and difficulty determines the level of Guanxi. Уровень усилий и трудностей определяет уровень Guanxi.

Needless to say, Western companies do not have a wide range of access possibilities for Guanxi at the first stages of doing business in China. Излишне говорить о том, что западные компании не имеют широкий диапазон возможностей для доступа Guanxi на первых этапах ведения бизнеса в Китае. Also many companies are not familiar with the requests of those ‘favours’ that often don’t match the social accepted values of doing business in Europe. Кроме того, многие компании не знакомы с просьбами этих "услуг", которые часто не совпадают, социальные ценности принимаются на ведение бизнеса в Европе. Recruiting employees with the right Guanxi is the fastest way of establishing a Guanxi network. Набор сотрудников с правом Guanxi является быстрый способ создания Guanxi сети. That is why certain persons from a social network with a specific family background are highly wanted regardless their capabilities and qualifications.
