Most Chinese speak poor English. معظم الفقراء الصينية يتكلم الانكليزيه. This can create humorous situations. وهذا يمكن ان تخلق حالات مضحك.

Once we went on a trip to Guangzhou with a German colleague. عندما ذهبنا فى رحلة الى قوانغتشو مع الزميل الالمانيه. After a hard day’s work a person has to relax. بعد يوم عمل الشاق شخص الى الاسترخاء. So we all go to the massage parlour in the hotel. ذلك اننا جميعا الذهاب الى تدليك صالة الاستقبال في الفندق. In these kinds of parlours they have every service; you can get your ears cleaned, your nails cut, a Chinese massage and many other treatments. في هذه الأنواع من صالات الاستقبال لهم كل الخدمات ؛ يمكنك الحصول على أذنيك تنظيفها ، والمسامير والقطع الخاصة بك ، والصينية والتدليك علاجات اخرى كثيرة. Usually the food and beverages are included in the price. عادة للاغذية والمشروبات مدرجة في الاسعار. Everything is relatively cheap. كل شيء رخيص نسبيا.

In these parlours the time seems to stop. في هذه صالات الاستقبال يبدو ان الوقت لوقف. No one is in a rush, you are there to relax. لا أحد في الاندفاع ، وانت هناك على الاسترخاء. Lots of people even fall asleep and end up staying the night there. ووجد الكثير من الناس حتى سقوط نائما وينتهي بقاء الليل هناك. This is very cheap: you are saving hotel costs while getting all the service. هذه هي رخيصة جدا : انت توفير تكاليف الفندق في حين ان الحصول على جميع الخدمات. You walk in there in the evening and before you know it, it is the middle of the night. عليك المشي في هناك في المساء وقبل ان تعرفه ، ومن منتصف الليل. For the Chinese massage we had to go into separate rooms and lost sight of each other. للتدليك الصينى اضطررنا الى الدخول في غرف منفصلة وفقدت البصر من بعضها البعض. It was already past two am when I realized I did not want to take any chances for the next day though, so I went to the hotel reception to ask for a wake up call. وكان بالفعل الماضيين صباحا عندما كنت ادرك انني لا تريد اتخاذ اي فرصة للفي اليوم التالي وان كان ، حتى انني ذهبت الى الفندق الاستقبال لاسال لاستيقظ الكلمه.

No problem. لا مشكلة. ‘Room number?’ I show my card and in return the guy from reception picks up the phone and dials a number. 'الغرفة عددا؟' تبين لي بلادي البطاقه في العودة والرجل من استقبال بانتقاء الهاتف وعدد الاوجه. After a while he gets a response and says: ‘it’s for you’. بعد حين انه يحصل على رد ويقول : 'انها لأنك'. “Why?” I ask surprized. "لماذا؟" اطلب بالدهشه. I answer the phone and it is my German colleague. الجواب الاول والهاتف ومن زميلي الالماني. He had gone to his room half an hour earlier. انه ذهب الى غرفته نصف ساعة فى وقت سابق. We woke him up. استيقظ نحن معه. ‘I’m sorry mate, I’m down at the reception. 'انا آسف ماتي ، وانا الى اسفل في قسم الاستقبال. I asked the guy from reception for a wake up call and he phoned you.’ I give him the phone back and tell him that he has dialled the wrong number. سألت الرجل من استقبال لتصحو الكلمه واعرب لكم كلم. 'اعطيه الهاتف الى الوراء ونقول له ان لديه عددا dialled خاطءه. He probably had the room next to mine..! وقال انه ربما كان لغرفة المقبل الالغام..! I show him my card again and ask for a morning call, a wake up call for tomorrow morning to wake up. انا اريه بلادي البطاقه مرة اخرى واسأل لصباح الكلمه ، والكلمه لاستيقظ صباح غد الى يستيقظون. ‘Ok’, the guy says and apologizes. 'موافق' ، ويقول الرجل يعتذر. This time he dails my number and waits. انه في هذه المرة عدد dails بلدي وينتظر. After a while he turns to me and says: ‘They are not picking up’ … وقال انه بعد فترة من الزمن لتتحول الى ويقول لي : 'انها ليست التقاط'…

Luckily the instruction manual of the alarm clock in my room is not in Chinese, I’ll manage. ومن حسن الحظ ان دليل التعليمات من المنبه في غرفتي ليست في الصينية ، انا ادارتها.
